With all the stress of the first month of classes, everyone needs some time to relax and unwind from the ginormous amounts of homework, tests, and papers. The easiest way to do this is by grabbing a few of your friends and a movie to watch together. Whether you want to veg-out in your room with several bags of chips and popcorn or go to the theater, there are so many options to choose from!
For the latest movies, check out one of the many movie theaters located nearby Benedictine for the showings of the movie you’re most excited to see. Be on the lookout for movies like Divergent, 300: Rise of an Empire, Bad Words (which is sure to be almost as funny as we are the millers), Muppets Most Wanted (for the children in your life), Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Rio 2, and Walk of Shame because all of these should be hitting theaters very soon and look too good to pass up!
If you enjoy paying half price for movies that have been out a little longer, you can visit Ogden 6 Theater! Ogden 6 is self-explanatory in that is plays 6 movies that have been showing in other theaters for quite some time, but for the low price of only $4 per person. There are even select nights once a month in which Benedictine Students get to see a movie for FREE, and you even get a coupon for a discounted drink and popcorn. Ogden 6 had movies like Catching Fire, Frozen, and even The Wolf of Wallstreet playing for a few weeks after they were out of other theaters.
If you are the type of person who would rather stay comfy in your room with everyone crammed onto one bed and shoving junk food in their faces, then you can choose to hit up a nearby Redbox for some of the newly released DVDs. The nearest location is at the Walgreens on Steeple Run, right by the entrance of the back road that leads to Founder’s Woods and the Krasa parking lot. Some of the newest movies coming out include About Time, Catching Fire, American Hustle, Anchorman 2, The Book Thief, Frozen, Gravity, The Hobbit, and Thor. It is so easy to grab a movie or two, and then walk into Walgreens and grab a bunch of candy, snack foods, and delicious drinks.
Whatever you choice of movies is, taking a break is a great way to get some of the stress out of your life and take a break from the hectic schedule of your classes. So make sure to have a movie night every once in a while and bond with your friends over who the hottest actor in to movie is!
