The holiday season can be stressful enough without the added stress of buying the “perfect” gift for that person who has everything. What do you get someone who is hard to shop for. They have everything, ask for little and are just picky about gifts? When buying for anyone, bigger and more expensive is not always the best. Sometimes people appreciate a smaller, subtle gift that is from the heart.
If you are buying a gift for someone who is picky or hard to shop for and you have known them for awhile, it may be easier to go off of their interest or starting at something as simple as their favorite color, animal or team. If you and the person are not as close, like in a secret Santa or grab-bag gift exchange, then gifts that are not as personal. Simply asking the person what their favorite color or interests are can help you find that perfect gift. Here are some gift ideas for that picky person in your life…
- Body care products: You can’t go wrong with making them smell good. Body washes, sprays, lotions and bath salts are all gifts that anyone can appreciate…I mean who would want to smell? If you know they buy a certain product or scent, try getting something along those lines.
- Gift Cards!:There is NO better thing to get someone who is hard to shop for than gift cards. There is literally a gift card for every place you can purchase something at. Food, clothing, craft stores, sports stores and the list continues. Or even getting a Visa gift card where they can choose what to spend the money on.
- Winter Gear: If you live in the Midwest chances are you’ve experienced winter. Everyone can appreciate new..and more winter hats, gloves and scarves. With so many styles, colors and brands, there’s a set out there for everyone.
- Homemade Gifts: If you are unsure of what to get someone there is nothing more personal than making something yourself. The time, effort and creativity you put into the gift will really be appreciated by the person receiving it. These types of gift are commonly received by younger children and given to parents, grandparent or siblings. But if you are on the crafty side than the task can become more exciting and enable you to experiment with different fabrics and crafts. These from the heart gifts can really go along way with receivers and you may even find a homemade gift lying around someones house from years ago.
No matter what you end up buying or making for that picky person in your life, thinking of gifts that they will really use and appreciate will go a long way. Sometimes going all out is not always the best decision. There is no need to stress out about exchanging gifts, finding out their favorite color or sports team can really go a long way. Just be creative and things will be just fine!
