It’s that time of year again, Homecoming is right around the corner and soon flyers and emails will be overflowing everything. I already received an email that tickets for the dance are officially on sale for this year’s dance—soon to sell out actually, and all the sports teams are practicing for their homecoming games. As an attendee of last year’s festivities, I would highly recommend that all freshmen go to the dance, not only because the music is great, but also because Harry Caray’s is a beautiful setting that provides a delicious three-course meal for everyone who buys a ticket. When I walked into the building, I was immediately surprised by the fancy structure of the lobby, and even the elegant restrooms when a break was needed. The room that the dinner and dance was held in was very large and had the perfect amount of seats for everyone. It is important to know that you don’t have to have a date to go to homecoming, because most people just go in a large group of friends anyways! With a friendly atmosphere and music that was perfect for every setting, Homecoming is an event that I will always remember.
The other part of Homecoming Weekend is the big Homecoming Football Game against rival school Aurora University, which is typically the game with the highest attendance rate of the entire season. Everyone joins together to cheer on our football team in hope of defeating our rivals, joining in friendly banter with students from Aurora and joining in on group cheers. This is a time of great support for the players of the football team and boost school moral, ticket sales, and school spirit!
Buy your tickets for the dance on October 11th from any member of Programming Board and come on out to the Homecoming Game on the 12th!
